Individual & Couples Therapy
Understanding for emotions. Attention for the body.
Therapy is about possibilities
Individual and Couples Psychotherapy
For over 10 years, I have been helping clients to navigate psychological challenges and find relief from distressing symptoms. In a safe and supportive therapeutic space, psychotherapy allows you to reconnect with your inner strengths, restore balance, and move towards a more fulfilling life.
Nature-Based Therapy
Nature-Based Therapy uses nature as a tool to promote health. It is based on the therapeutic use of sensory experiences. By reconnecting with nature and experiencing its beauty, a sense of belongingness emerges and life becomes more meaningful. Ecotherapy is especially beneficial for those dealing with chronic stress and looking for ways to restore their body and mind.
GI therapy
GI therapy focuses on the connection between the mind and the digestive system to ease symptoms and improve wellbeing. Using approaches like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Mindfulness, it helps reduce discomfort, manage stress, and build healthier patterns in how the brain and gut communicate.
I’m an ecopsychologist, psychotherapist and an educator
I accompany my clients everyday in their process of understanding and managing their feelings. Through a holistic approach, I can help you to reconnect deeply within yourself, unfold your potential and find a sense of wholeness and peace. My desire is to help you feel fulfilled, empowered and happy in your life. My toolbox includes psychotherapy and nature-based therapy practices, as well as body-based practices.

Please don’t hesitate to contact me if you would like to book a session or ask a question. I will be glad to answer it.
Online and In-Person Psychotherapy in Barcelona - Sylwia Kieszkowska
Are you looking for psychological support, living in Barcelona, and finding it difficult to find a specialist who speaks Polish or English? Or perhaps you prefer online sessions that you can attend from anywhere in the world? I offer individual psychotherapy and couples therapy in Polish, English, and Spanish – both online and in person in Barcelona.
My name is Sylwia Kieszkowska. For over 10 years, I have been helping people who struggle with emotional difficulties, relationship problems, chronic stress, or disorders related to the gut-brain axis. I work within an integrative approach, combining elements of humanistic-experiential therapy, process-oriented work, and cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT).
Who I Help
In my practice, I work with people at different stages of life and facing different challenges. Most often, people come to me experiencing chronic stress, anxiety, or tension that interferes with daily functioning. I also work with individuals who feel overwhelmed and mentally exhausted, struggle with difficulties in relationships, or notice recurring patterns in their romantic relationships.
I support clients going through life crises, change, and loss. I help people with psychosomatic problems and bodily tension, as well as those who experience a sense of meaninglessness, lack of direction, or a lost connection with themselves.
Psychotherapy is a space where you can safely look at what you are going through, understand your reactions, and gradually introduce real changes into your life.
My Specialisations
In addition to classic individual psychotherapy and couples therapy, I have developed two unique areas of specialisation that distinguish my practice.
Psychogastroenterology – Gut-Brain Axis Therapy
GI therapy is specialist support for people suffering from disorders of gut-brain interaction. I help patients with irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), functional dyspepsia, bloating, constipation, diarrhoea, and visceral hypersensitivity. I also work with people whose intestinal problems co-occur with anxiety, depression, panic attacks, or chronic pain.
In psychogastroenterological therapy, I use methods with proven effectiveness – cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) and mindfulness techniques. I base my work on the standards of the Rome Foundation, which sets international guidelines in this field.
Ecotherapy – Nature-Based Therapy
Nature-based therapy uses contact with the natural world as a tool to support mental health and personal development. I offer individual sessions, group sessions, and forest bathing. I am a certified ecotherapist (Pacifica Graduate Institute) and a forest therapy guide (Forest Therapy Hub).
Ecotherapy sessions take place in natural surroundings – in the forest or by the water. They combine elements of mindfulness, sensory awareness, and body-based work, helping to reduce stress, support emotional regulation, and restore a sense of belonging.
How I Work
I use an integrative approach, which means that I adapt my methods of work to the individual needs of each client. My core training includes humanistic-experiential therapy, process-oriented psychotherapy, and cognitive behavioural therapy.
In therapeutic work, what matters to me is creating a safe and non-judgemental space, being attentive to the client’s pace and readiness for change, working with both emotions and bodily experience, and supporting the development of greater self-awareness and awareness of one’s needs.
Therapy can take different forms depending on your goals. I offer consultations (1–2 sessions), short-term therapy focused on a specific problem, and long-term therapy dedicated to deeper work and personal development.
Online and In-Person Sessions
I conduct online therapy sessions via Skype, Google Meet, or Zoom. This allows me to work with clients from all over the world – regardless of whether you live in London, Berlin, New York, or Warsaw, you can access psychotherapy in Polish.
In-person sessions take place in my office in Barcelona (Carrer de Alaba 100, 08018 Barcelona).
A standard individual session lasts 50 minutes. A couples session lasts 75 minutes. Individual ecotherapy sessions last 90 minutes, and group sessions last 3 hours.
My Education and Certifications
I completed a degree in Clinical Psychology at SWPS University in Warsaw. I obtained my specialisation in psychogastroenterology at the Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy Centre in Warsaw. I also trained in process-oriented psychotherapy at IAPOP in Portland, USA.
I hold an ecotherapist certification issued by Pacifica Graduate Institute and a forest therapy guide certification from Forest Therapy Hub.
I am the co-founder and editor-in-chief of Naturally Balanced, an educational platform devoted to ecopsychology. I also run the certification course “Ecotherapy, Medical Ecology and Biomimicry” for helping professionals.

FAQ - Questions I Am Most Often Asked
Can I access online psychotherapy while living abroad?
Yes, I conduct online sessions via Skype, Google Meet, and Zoom. I work with clients from all over the world in Polish, English, and Spanish. The only things you need are a stable internet connection and a private space for the duration of the session.
What is psychogastroenterology and who can it help?
Psychogastroenterology is a specialisation that combines psychology and gastroenterology. It helps people with disorders of gut-brain interaction such as IBS, dyspepsia, bloating, or constipation. It uses cognitive behavioural therapy and mindfulness to alleviate symptoms by working with the gut-brain axis.
What does the first therapy session look like?
The first session is a consultation during which we talk about your needs and goals. Together, we establish the direction of our work and the estimated duration of therapy. It is also an opportunity for you to get to know my way of working and decide whether you would like to continue.
How long does the therapeutic process last?
The length of therapy depends on individual needs. Short-term therapy involves up to several sessions and focuses on a specific problem. Long-term therapy lasts longer and is intended for deeper work on yourself and personal development.
How is ecotherapy different from regular psychotherapy?
Ecotherapy is a form of therapy that takes place outdoors, in contact with nature. Sessions are held in the forest or by the water and combine elements of mindfulness, sensory awareness, and body-based work. It supports stress reduction and emotional regulation through reconnecting with nature.
What languages do you conduct sessions in?
I conduct sessions in three languages: Polish, English, and Spanish. You can choose the language in which you feel most comfortable, regardless of whether you attend online sessions or in-person sessions in Barcelona.
